The Portland Conservatories May 2009 special promotions is launched

Portland design its conservatories and orangeries with the underlying philosophy that they are ‘easy to plan, easy to install and easy to build’. Now in order to make them ‘easy to buy’ they have created a series of attractive financial packages that they are offering as part of their May 2009 special promotions.

Portland has negotiated with Barclays Bank, its in-house financial partner, in order to be able to offer a series of attractive financial packages. The May 2009 special promotion is available in conjunction with all the conservatories and orangeries in the Portland range, this includes lean-to conservatories and contemporary orangeries, as well as being available on all installation options including the Portland Premier full build package. The Portland Premier full build package has been designed to include all aspects of purchasing a new conservatory, from planning, all associated building works and the installation process. It is also available to customers who want the DIY conservatory option.

To arrange a free, no obligation meeting with your local Portland Conservatories design consultant just call 0800 294 9040. This will provide you with the opportunity to discuss any aspect of the financial packages available in May. The consultant can help you decide which option is best placed to match your specific requirements. The design consultant can talk you through all aspects involved in the process of purchasing a new conservatory or orangery. With the various financial packages available there has never been a better time to purchase a new conservatory or orangery from Portland.

There are several different financial packages available as part of the May 2009 special promotion, the options available include a ‘Buy Now – pay later’ option and a ‘Beat the Bank rate’.

The “Buy now - pay later” Option

This option has been designed to enable you to purchase a bespoke new conservatory or orangery and not have to start making your repayments on the balance for 12 months. This means that your repayments will not start until 2010.

Using the ‘Buy Now – Pay Later’ option when purchasing a £5,000 conservatory or orangery could lead to the following repayment plan:

  • Conservatory or orangery Cash price = £5,000

  • Deposit £500

  • Either pay the cash price within 12 months of delivery or pay 120 monthly payments of £96.75

  • Total amount payable (assuming cash price is not paid within 12 months) = £12110.

  • APR 19.9% variable

The “Beat the Bank with a rate of 6.9% APR”

Even with the current uncertainty and unrest that pervades in the mortgage and loans market at present Portland have been able to secure the excellent unsecured rate of 6.9% from in-house financial partner Barclays Bank. This option makes it possible to spread the re-payments on a new conservatory over a time period ranging from 3 to 15 years. Portland have also made sure that there will not be any administration or valuation fees with this option.

  • Conservatory or orangery Cash price £5,000

  • Deposit £500

  • 120 monthly payments of £ 51.62

  • Total payable £6694.40

  • APR 6.9% variable

Portland Conservatories is re-launching its range of designs at a time when homeowners may be looking to improve and extend rather than move.

Portland Conservatories is re-launching its range of designs at a time when homeowners may be looking to improve and extend rather than move.

In the current economic climate, extending a home by adding a stylish conservatory will solve the issue of space for homeowners who are unable to sell their homes, or do not wish the inconvenience of moving.

Chris Redfern, Chief Operating Officer of Portland Conservatories, said: We appreciate that a lot of people’s dreams and ambitions might be affected by the credit crunch, but we would urge them to think about a different and affordable way of increasing their living space, improving their home and also their lifestyle.”

Portland Conservatories offers traditional ( Edwardian and Victorian ) conservatory designs together with a range of contemporary conservatories to better suit the current furnishing and fashion preferences of today’s home improvement market. Although conservatories were first used to “conserve” exotic plants from the extremes of the British weather, they are increasingly being seen as one of the most adaptable and favourite rooms in a home. The availability of stylish accessories, furniture and discrete heating systems has opened up the conservatory as an all-year-round room.

“Some people still associate a conservatory with flowery, upholstered cane furniture and a place to take afternoon tea,” said Mr Redfern. “But the reality is they can be used for anything – a gym, an office, a dining room, a children’s play room or a sanctuary for relaxation.”

He added: “Another myth is that conservatories can be too hot and uncomfortable in the summer and too cold to use in the winter. That’s not the case, with Portland's roof ventilating systems and double-glazed units, they can be used all the year round and certainly look more attractive and are often cheaper than a conventional extension.”

With enhancement options available on the market such as underfloor heating, tiled or wooden flooring, air-conditioning and blinds, a conservatory can be adapted to suit the environment, giving cost-effective and stylish living space.

Portland Conservatories, which are self-build, take in the region of two to three weeks to install and can be assembled by a competent enthusiast or by a reputable joiner - simple step by step instructions guide the customer through the assembly process. As well as re-launching its designs, the company has also revamped its website, which provides further information about the Portland range along with advice on local authority conservatory planning permission requirements .

The company is also doing its bit for the environment, with all the timber components being sourced from sustainable and managed forests, which are FSC certified.

The new range of Portland conservatories bring the outside in, be it a traditional gable-ended unit, a stylish lean-to or a contemporary orangery they certainly extend the home with a significant amount of style and panache.
