Portland Conservatories announces its special January 2009 promotion on DIY self build and Premier full build timber conservatories and orangeries

Portland’s timber conservatories and orangeries are easy to plan, easy to install, easy to build and now with our fantastic finance options even easier to purchase.

With various installation options available, Portland’s clients can choose to buy and build their project themselves or alternatively take advantage of Portland’s Premier full build package which can cover every aspect of the associated planning, building and installation processes.

In order to offer this special promotion for January 2009 we have negotiated a deal with our in-house finance partner Barclays Bank which has enabled us to offer attractive finance options on either our Full Build or DIY conservatories and orangeries. There has never been a better time to arrange for a free, no obligation meeting with your local Portland Conservatories design consultant. During your consultation you will have the opportunity to talk through the various finance options available, including Buy Now Pay 2010 and Beat the Bank packages.

For the remainder of this January we have decided to run the following special offers:

Buy now and don’t pay until anything until 2010

Take delivery of your conservatory or orangery from Portland Conservatories and not have to pay the balance until 12 months later.

For example this would break down as:

  • Cash price £5,000

  • Deposit £500

  • Either pay the cash price within 12 months of delivery or pay 120 monthly payments of £96.75

  • Total amount payable (assuming cash price is not paid within 12 months) £12110.

  • APR 19.9% variable

Beat the Bank Rate with 6.9% APR

In the current mortgage and loans market we had to work hard but we still managed to negotiate an excellent unsecured rate of 6.9% APR with Barclays Bank. With this option you can spread the cost from 3 to 15 years. We have also ensured that there are no administration or valuation fees to pay.

  • Cash price £5,000

  • Deposit £500

  • 120 monthly payments of £51.62

  • Total payable £6694.40

  • APR 6.9% variable

Portland Conservatories is re-launching its range of designs at a time when homeowners may be looking to improve and extend rather than move.

Portland Conservatories is re-launching its range of designs at a time when homeowners may be looking to improve and extend rather than move.

In the current economic climate, extending a home by adding a stylish conservatory will solve the issue of space for homeowners who are unable to sell their homes, or do not wish the inconvenience of moving.

Chris Redfern, Chief Operating Officer of Portland Conservatories, said: We appreciate that a lot of people’s dreams and ambitions might be affected by the credit crunch, but we would urge them to think about a different and affordable way of increasing their living space, improving their home and also their lifestyle.”

Portland Conservatories offers traditional ( Edwardian and Victorian ) conservatory designs together with a range of contemporary conservatories to better suit the current furnishing and fashion preferences of today’s home improvement market. Although conservatories were first used to “conserve” exotic plants from the extremes of the British weather, they are increasingly being seen as one of the most adaptable and favourite rooms in a home. The availability of stylish accessories, furniture and discrete heating systems has opened up the conservatory as an all-year-round room.

“Some people still associate a conservatory with flowery, upholstered cane furniture and a place to take afternoon tea,” said Mr Redfern. “But the reality is they can be used for anything – a gym, an office, a dining room, a children’s play room or a sanctuary for relaxation.”

He added: “Another myth is that conservatories can be too hot and uncomfortable in the summer and too cold to use in the winter. That’s not the case, with Portland's roof ventilating systems and double-glazed units, they can be used all the year round and certainly look more attractive and are often cheaper than a conventional extension.”

With enhancement options available on the market such as underfloor heating, tiled or wooden flooring, air-conditioning and blinds, a conservatory can be adapted to suit the environment, giving cost-effective and stylish living space.

Portland Conservatories, which are self-build, take in the region of two to three weeks to install and can be assembled by a competent enthusiast or by a reputable joiner - simple step by step instructions guide the customer through the assembly process. As well as re-launching its designs, the company has also revamped its website, which provides further information about the Portland range along with advice on local authority conservatory planning permission requirements .

The company is also doing its bit for the environment, with all the timber components being sourced from sustainable and managed forests, which are FSC certified.

The new range of Portland conservatories bring the outside in, be it a traditional gable-ended unit, a stylish lean-to or a contemporary orangery they certainly extend the home with a significant amount of style and panache.
